These are perfect for brisk cool morning walks or cool temp trails when unhurried.I'm a short person; about 5" tall and weigh 165, so I have thicker thighs and short legs. I was excited to find these pants came in petites for us short girls, but only up to size large petite and I usually wear an extra large petite or 0X. So, I took a chance and ordered a Large Petite and an Xlarger Regular for comparison. I was shocked, but the large petite fit great and the extra large regular were too long waisted, as I expected, but also very a little baggy in the seat/legs. Thank you to the other reviewers who stated they ran big in the seat and legs, otherwise I would not have even tried to order the large petite. Now, I don't like that they hug my legs but just know that when I say hug, I don't mean tight at all. I just don't think close fitting clothes are a great look for me but I plan to wear a little longer wind jacket and I'll be more comfortable.. These pants are so comfy, I can easily move for any activitiy and hope to try them out soon cross country skiing. Also, the petite length is still about 3" too long for me, but I'm used to that and just plan to roll them under or shorten them myself. The regular size ran about 4" longer than the petite. Love my purchase! These pants are windproof, flexible, and quite soft to the touch. Also should be quite durable if they are like previous Sporthill purchases. The pants were recommended by my sister who LOVES them - as do I. We live in Northern Minnesota and I wore them yesterday over a pair of leggings ( keep in mind it was -17 ) to go snowshoeing. They do the job of keeping me warm and comfortable-while wicking away any moisture.I will wear them for multiple outdoor activities. Super comfortable. I normally wear a Women's 12 and ordered these in the PL. They fit, but could be a little roomier in the belly area. I contemplated exchanging them for a PXL, but they don't come in that.Love the fit, love the length, love the look, love the warmth. Only concern is that after 3 wear days the material was piling a little in movement areas (ie between the legs)I am 5'3; and 159lbs. The large, petite was a perfect fitI have just tested out these pants at the the top of Jungfaujoch (Elevation: 11,388' or 3,471 m) in 38 mile/hour wind on January 28th 2013. And my legs were warm! In contrast I took my glove off to use my camera and thought I was going to get get frost-nip after 30 secs!GOOD JOB by these pants. I am about to order another pairI purchased these pants for a trip to Alaska in September. They were perfect for the ever changing weather. They kept me warm on a small plane ride with no heat in Talkeetna and wasn't too hot in Homer where the weather was mild. We rented an RV and drove 850 miles in 3 days so I needed something that was comfy too. It did exactly what I needed. The only thing I would say is I am a petite 5'2" and I wish I would have bought the regular length as the petite is a tiny bit too short but ok.I simply love these pants and with the advertised price, I had to get it again. I had bought one last year but left in a hotel by mistake...painful mistake. I am 1.7m and weight abt 59kg (5 feet 6, 130 pounds) so the small long is a good enough fit although there is still some room to spare. It comes with an elastic waistband with drawstring, so I don't have to worry if I put on an extra kg or two. In short, I would totally recommend these pants - keeps you warm and looking good.I have used these to ride my bicycle in freezing temperatures in the morning and snow play at Santa Fe Ski area when it was only 20 degrees. Not only are they warm, they block the wind and are extremely comfortable. The zippers around the ankle allow them to be narrow with a bike shoe, and also wide to cover a snow boot and keep snow from the tops of the boots in 3 ft of snow.
